AN ARANTEES LAWRENCE strike in extra time pushed St Michael South to a tense 1-0 victory over Christ Church West Central on Saturday night in the quarter-finals of the David Thompson Memorial Constituency Councils Football Classic.
The match ended 0-0 in regular time and with the extra time slowly winding down at Bagatelle, St Thomas, many fans thought that it was headed to a penalty shoot-out. But Lawrence finally got past Jason Welch after a mad scramble in front of goal to send the St Michael South bench and fans into celebration.
