When Rommel Cummins established Kool Karz Valet about five years ago, it came as a surprise to some friends and family.
Not so much that the 27-year-old Barbadian aspired to be an entrepreneur, but because it was widely known that he wanted first and foremost to be a policeman.
From little, Cummins dreamt of following in the path of his father, Ronald, who was a member of the Royal Barbados Police Force. To him, his father was like a superhero.
“My dad would collect me from school in his uniform and, of course, being a typical boy, I would scare some of the children by saying, ‘When my daddy comes for me this evening, I will tell him to lock you up’,” Cummins recounted with laughter during an interview at his Husbands, St James home.
