RIHANNA WAS THE BELLE OF THE BALL at her annual Diamond Ball event in LA on Thursday night. The Barbadian singer posed for photos in a stunning champagne-coloured gown for the soirée, which was hosted by The Clara Lionel Foundation.
Founded in 2012, the organisation works to improve the quality of life for communities worldwide in the areas of health, education, arts, and culture. Before the fun began, a dapper Will Smith walked the red carpet with his gorgeous wife Jada, with other celebrities, who included Kylie Jenner, who arrived in a strapless number with a train with her boyfriend, Tyga.
Last year’s Diamond Ball raised more than $2 million for the Clara Brathwaite Centre of Oncology in Barbados, and as soon as he took the stage, host Kevin Hart made it clear he wanted to beat that amount – and during the night, he proudly announced they had done just that, with more than $3 million raised this year.
A highlight of the night was guest and singer Lionel Richie, who took to the stage to perform his and the Commodores’ hits. The black-tie crowd slipped off their heels and jackets to let loose as he performed. At the end, the audience headed for the doors, stopping to pick up their goodie bags featuring a three-month Tidal subscription and Rihanna’s perfume. (NS)
