Cave Hill here to stay, says Barriteau

TURBULENT TIMES won’t be keeping the Cave Hill campus down.

Not under the watch of the University of the West Indies’ (UWI) first female principal, Professor Violet Eudine Barriteau.

That promise came from the campus’ new head yesterday, as she delivered her inaugural address at her induction ceremony at the Roy Marshall Teaching Complex.

Speaking to an audience that included Dr Keith Mitchell, the Prime Minister of Grenada, the land of her birth; Chief Justice Sir Marston Gibson and Minister of Education, Ronald Jones, Barriteau said that despite tough financial times, Cave Hill would remain relevant as an educational institution.
