BARBADOS took a major international equestrian prize in 2015, with Roberta Foster joining the illustrious list of local world champions.

Astride her Dutch warm blood mare Chichic, Foster defeated some of the world’s best dressage riders in over 50 countries to claim the coveted Advanced Dressage Test award at the International Equestrian Federation’s (FEI) World Dressage Challenge.

The official announcement was made by Monique Archer, president of the Barbados Equestrian Association (BEA), at their recently held annual awards ceremony at the Coconut Court Hotel in Hastings.

“This has been phenomenal a year for the BEA. It is one that has made us all very proud. No praise is too much for our own Elite Dressage rider Roberta Foster, who has beaten some of the world’s best to place our island firmly on the international equestrian world stage,” Archer said.
