PRIME MINISTER FREUNDEL STUART wants Barbadians to stop focusing on “acquiring more, more, more” and instead learn to say “enough”.
In a Christmas message in which he admonished the population to make sure they fixed their eyes on the right star, as reflected in the story of the “wise men” in the Bible, the leader of Government warned that always seeking more would not necessarily bring“personal fulfilment”.
“There must be room in your vocabulary for the word ‘enough’,” he said. “What we acquire certainly answers the question, how we live from day to day; it does not answer the question, why we live from day to day. . . .
“Following a star which frees you from responsibility as a parent, as a teacher or as a citizen will not bring you that sense of personal fulfilment which you seek.”
