THE TRADITION of Christmas Morning in Queen’s Park is alive and well.
Anyone with doubts about the future of this popular Barbadian event should have been in the Park yesterday to witness the spectacle of fashion, colour, food, and the crowning feature, music and young people happily parading their styles and mingling.
The Royal Barbados Police Force Band and the young group Promise entertained the hundreds with musical repertoires that appealed to the span of generations present.
Christmas Eve night rains left the Park lawns soggy. This and overcast skies early on Christmas morning may have daunted the spirits of some people, but not the scores who started making their way to Constitution Road before 7.00 a.m. to ensure they were in their familiar places when the Royal Barbados Police Force Band struck up.
