Parental breakdown a concern

DISCONNECTION BETWEEN PARENTS AND CHILDREN is a major problem, says Anglican Bishop of Barbados Dr John Holder.

One of the issues facing Barbados, Holder said, was the fact that too many parents were not connecting with their children.

This resulted in the youths making critical life choices too early and without supportive parental wisdom, he said.

“Many of our parents do not seem to be strong enough in guiding their children away from making the wrong choices that creates problems for themselves, for their schools, for their community and for everyone else,” he said.

Holder, who is also the Archbishop of the West Indies, made these comments during St Michael Cathedral’s Christmas 7 a.m. service. (ACG)
