WHAT WAS ONCE a strip club has now been turned into a book and mentorship club for children at the corner of Nelson and Wellington Streets, The City.

Evens Marcelin, president and founder of the 4G7 Club, said despite the stigma attached to the area, he wanted to give the youngsters an avenue and a place to call their own.

“I am hoping to bring betterment to the kids in the ghetto. Out of something bad, good can come out of it. The kids don’t have a place to house and keep themselves safe presently, so I am offering it to them,” he said.

Formerly called Flójs Club, it was closed in 2010 by owner Marcelin.
