Residents plan protest

SOME ST JOSEPH residents are boiling hot over prolonged water shortages and plan to take to the streets to air their grievances.

Without running water for weeks and empty potable water tanks, residents of the Bissex Housing Area said they were totally fed up and ready to stage a march today from the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation to the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) in The Pine, St Michael.

Standing a few feet away from three loads of laundry, Kareen Parris said the community had had “more than enough” and was not satisfied with their living conditions which made it hard for them to attend work and do their chores.

Parris, the most vocal of the group, patiently waited for BWA tankers to arrive.
