HOME ADVANTAGE did not work in UWI Blackbirds’ favour on Sunday night as they were mercilessly thrashed by a ruthless Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme (BDFSP) in the night cap game of the Digicel Premier League at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex.

BDFSP, the three-time defending champions, announced their intent to retain the title with a 4-0 drubbing of the university lads on a rainy night at Paradise Park.

Shaquille Boyce scored a brace while Shaquille Stewart and Raheim Sargeant netted a goal each.

On paper, these two sides are evenly matched but BDFSP effectively neutralised the threat of big striker Mario Harte and UWI’s Panamanian import Jairo Lombardo. UWIdid have a few chances to score but poor finishing meant they did not get on the scoresheet.
