THE RAIN ONCE AGAIN disrupted the National Sports Council Sports In The Community Road Tennis Tournament when the fixture continued on Friday night at the Deighton “Pa” Roach Centre in Bush Hall.

However, last year’s ‘B’ Class losing finalists St George had enough time to advance to the semi-finals by eliminating St Peter.

Former Caribbean top spiker Ivor Lashley, who played in last year’s finals, powered his parish to the next round.

St Peter had drawn first blood, with Marlon Edwards stopping a plucky fight from young Kemar Byer of St George 21-13, 21-18. St Peter seemed on course for an upset victory, with Stanmore Knight battling from 7-18 to take the first game from Lashley 22-20. (KB)
