CUSTOMERS FROM BLACK ROCK to Sunset Crest were without electricity for about three hours last night.

According to a release from the Barbados Light & Power Company, service crews responded around 7:13 p.m. to customer calls that an explosion was heard in the area of West Terrace, St. James.

They found a burnt conductor on a pole at Danesbury, Black Rock, St Michael.

Customers from Walmer Lodge, Black Rock to Sunset Crest, St James, University Hill through to Wanstead and a section of West Terrace were impacted by the power outage. Electrical supply was restored to all customers by 10:29 p.m.

Light & Power apologised for the inconvenience caused to customers affected by the outage.

Two days after Christmas, a fire on a substation in St Thomas left customers in the north without power for almost two hours. (PR/SAT)
