THE CULTURAL SECTOR just may be the next major foreign exchange earner for the island, says Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley.
He praised the sector while speaking at Saturday’s launch of the Caribbean Music Synch Or Swim Workshop held at Fairmont Royal Pavilion, St James.
The one-day workshop, put on by SynchAudio, an international music licensing and media management company, was led by chief executive officer (CEO) Farinoush Mostaghimi and Picture Music Company CEO Nora Felder, whom Lashley thanked for choosing to host it in Barbados.
“This sector, to my mind, holds the greatest hope for the rapid generation of foreign exchange and foreign direct influence into Barbados,” the minister said while addressing the workshop.
