Applications open for UWI tuition grant

THE MINISTRY of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation is inviting Barbadian citizens currently pursuing studies at the campuses of University of the West Indies (UWI) to apply for the Higher Education Tuition Grant. 

To be eligible for the full tuition grant, the annual household income of each applicant studying full time at UWI must be $25 000 or less, or $2 100 or less monthly.

To qualify for the partial grant, the annual household income for one person studying part-time at UWI must be between $25 001 and $35 000 or $2 100 and $3 000 monthly; or $45 000 per annum or $3 750 monthly or less for more than one person at UWI.

Applications may be obtained online from the Ministry’s website at http://mes.gov.bb, or from the Ministry’s receptionist. Envelopes must be addressed to:

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, The Elsie Payne Complex, Constitution Road, St Michael.

Handwritten applications should be legibly completed, with Higher Education Tuition Grant written on the envelope. Applications must be submitted no later than Friday, January 29. (Ministry of Education/BGIS)
