TWO BURST MAINS yesterday disrupted a school, homes and businesses in the north of the island.

Daryll Jordan Secondary School in Trents is expected to reopen tomorrow after it was closed early yesterday because of water problems.

Principal Stephen Jackman said it had nothing to do with the persistent water woes in that parish since the school had not been affected. Rather, the outage was as a result of a burst main near the reservoir in St Lucy, he said.

“This was just a one-off,” he said, adding that workers were on the job fixing the main and he expected water to return in time for school tomorrow following today’s holiday.
