BRIDGETOWN – Barbados Pride, resuming from 272 for two overnight, reached 349 for three in 105.4 overs at an early lunch interval, replying to the Windward Islands Volcanoes’ first innings total of 250 on the third day of their WICB Regional Professional Cricket League first-class match at Kensington Oval here Sunday.
Shai Hope, who restarted on 98, duly reached his century and was on 129 when smoke, from a house fire in a nearby residential area, forced the players off the field. Hope has so far struck 13 fours while facing 236 balls in 323 minutes.
The other not out batsman was the promoted Carlos Brathwaite, who hit two sixes and a four in a breezy unbeaten 23 off 16 balls.
The third batsman dismissed was Shamarh Brooks for 18. Part-time bowler Johnson Charles was the most successful bowler for the Volcanoes with two for 51 off nine overs. (EZS)
