GUESS THE THIRD TIME wasn’t the charm for Warriors.
Station Hill’s young Cavs have definitely come of age now, bravely surviving a late fourth-quarter rally before holding off Hilton Barbados Warriors 73-70 to win Saturday’s Co-operators General Insurance Premier League basketball knockout title game at the Wildey Gym.
While the last-second victory justified Cavs’ commitment to the future, it further served as a painful reminder of Warriors’ recent past, as the Dayrells Road men had lost the two previous KO finals.
But this one probably hurt a lot more than the rest, considering Warriors clawed their way out of a 15-point fourth-quarter hole (64-49) only to lose on the game’s very last possession.
