HILDA SKEENE PRIMARY’S Kadari Webster was one of the stars of the show yesterday when the Pine Hill Dairy’s James Wedderburn Zone got under way at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex.
Webster, one of the bright sparks so far, set two zonal records and had fans from all the schools cheering him on. He is now the new record holder in both the long jump and the high jump, and what makes his achievement even more special is that he had to compete in both events simultaneously.
He won the long jump with 4.45 metres, erasing the previous record of 4.42 metres. But it was his performance in the high jump that many will remember. Webster won that event with 1.45 metres, the best performance to date for this year’s championships. The old record was 1.36 metres. (PG)
