IN THE WAKE of three visitors and a local woman being charged with credit card fraud last week, the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) is fighting back.
Chief executive of the BHTA, Sue Springer, has revealed the entity has reintroduced a special early warning system where if any suspicious activity by guests or customers using credit cards is noticed, all BHTA members are warned, with info on the suspected perpetrators being immediately circulated throughout its islandwide membership.
She said the move was in response to a situation last week when four people faced the court, charged with criminal deception involving the use of numerous fake credit cards, primarily along the country’s West Coast.
