ON ANY GIVEN DAY, the men and women of the Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF) have to risk their lives to ensure that the citizens of Barbados and visitors to the island are served, protected and reassured.
Often they do this in spite of little or no acknowledgement or thanks from the same population they serve. But last Saturday night, there was no dearth of praise as 14 retired officers were celebrated at a function held at the Barbados Workers’ Union’s Solidarity House in Harmony Hall, St Michael.
It was a festive send-off as Acting Attorney General and Minister of Home Affairs, Michael Lashley, gazetted and other top-ranking officers joined the retirees, their families and friends for a night of music, dance and food. (SDB Media)
