First win for Warrens

DON’T WRITE OFF the champs just yet.

George Farrell had 21 points, including a late trey and clutch buzzer-beating jumper, as Pan American International Insurance Warrens notched their first win of the Co-operators General Insurance Basketball Premier League via Sunday’s 72-66 stunner over Hilton Barbados Warriors.

It’s been nothing close to last year’s dreadful 0-4 start to the season, yet Warrens looked likely of dropping a third straight to open this campaign following Sunday’s wild back-and-forth fourth quarter at the Barbados Community College.

But Farrell drilled a huge triple to break open what was a one-possession game (60-58) before hitting a dramatic fall-away jumper that beat the buzzer and sandwiched a Richie Walker floater.
