IT WAS a big-people party as the characters in the 2016 Holetown Dooflicky played mas on the bacchanal road.
Last Sunday at the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc.’s event which was held to commemorate the 40th annual Holetown Festival, hundreds of people descended upon the streets of the near 400-year-old St James town.
At 4 p.m. members of the Royal Barbados Police Force cordoned off points along Highway 1, including the junction at Cemetery Lane, metres away from the Sandy Crest Medical Centre, and further along the strip at the crossroad by First Street and the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre.
This was to prevent traffic congestion while making way for the parade of the Tuk band, stiltmen, Shaggy Bears and Mother Sallies.
