ENHANCING THE QUALITY of club hockey and reviving spectator interest will be two of the major priorities of the new executive of the Barbados Hockey Federation (BHF).

New president Mark St Hill told the SATURDAY SUN that the domestic game needed a shot in the arm.

“We have got to get the clubs back into it. We have got to increase our workforce, and bring back out the fans. We just can’t be relying on the turf to get the season going. There is much that has to be done and everyone has to play a part, contribution cannot only be from the board,” he said.

St Hill, an experienced banker and national goalkeeper, was elected unopposed as president at the annual general meeting of the BHF at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex on Wednesday night.
