IT HAS TAKEN 11 weeks, but Monday will be the first day of school this term for the 15-year-old girl at the centre of a disciplinary dispute.
The former Springer Memorial Secondary School student, who came to national attention after she refused to pick up a snack wrapper when instructed to do so by her year head and then the principal, is now on the roll of a private secondary school in St Michael.
Child rights advocate Shelly Ross, who has rallied behind the child and her mother Elecia Weekes from the start, told the WEEKEND NATION yesterday that they got the good news on Wednesday.
The child has already been fitted for the new uniforms, she said.
