As part of the Nation Publishing Company’s 50th anniversary of Independence celebrations, the Weekend Nation team is visiting communities across the country that reflect Bajan life. We will talk to people and explore places over the next few editions.
WHILE KEITH SEATON was not born in Barbados, he calls the island home.
When one looks at his house, located along Rock Hall, St Philip, there is no mistaking where his heart is. It is painted in blue and yellow with similarly coloured lights set around the trim.
“I was born in St Vincent but came here as a child and now Barbados is home. I’ve always liked this country and I’ve always wanted to paint my house in Barbados’ colours so one day I did it,” he said.
However, that is not all the house has. There are also numerous old fans, a large sign reading LOVE and various newspapers pinned to the walls – Nation newspapers, of course.
