ANSA McAL Group of Companies has been chosen by the majority of UWI students as the company they most want to apply to for their annual summer intern programme this year, due to the varied options available, the group said.
The University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus held its Office Of Student Services Career Fair last Wednesday, when thousands of students came out to discuss summer internships with the companies on display. This being only the second year that ANSA McAL had a showing they were delighted to be chosen by the students as having the best selection of vacancies for the intern programme.
Their booth offered sampling of products from Bryden Stokes and a fun “selfie” station where students could win hampers from Brydens Xpress.
Monique Hassell, group organisational development manager, said: “This event has become a huge part of our strategy to focus on succession planning as it relates to hiring and retaining the best talent for the group. We try to take on a number of students each year, in human resources, marketing, finance, sales and IT for either a six or 12 week programme between June and August. They are actually put to work in their various fields across our group of companies, giving them real life exposure while building valuable professional skills.”
