THE INSURANCE CORPORATION of Barbados Limited (ICBL) is hoping to increase the number of lives that will be helped through the 2016 Family Fun Walk and Run.

This morning at a press conference to announce the logistics of the event at the company’s Roebuck Street head office, Corporate Communications Specialist Randy Howard said the 2015 showing attracted 2 300 participants.

And with the 7th annual event to come off on Heroes Day, April 28  under the theme Stride for Pride, Howard said more focus will be placed on gaining increased participation through the use of corporate packages.

“The reason for our focus on raising the level of participation year after year is quite simple. Greater participation means more funds raised, which means more funds donated,” Howard said.

Funds generated from the 5K walk and run as well as the 10K run in the past have gone towards supporting the Asthma Bay at the Queen Elizabeth hospital, the Hope Foundation and the Precious Touch Foundation.

For the first time, some of the proceeds will go to the Parents Education for Development in Barbados or PAREDOS. (TG)
