Ramon Gittens reaches 60m final

RAMON GITTENS is through to the finals of the men’s 60 metres dash at the IAAF World Indoor Championships.

In heat one earlier tonight, Gittens clocked a personal best 6.53 seconds, the same time as American Trayvon Bromell, to advance to the final which will be run at 11:40 p.m. (Barbados time) in Portland, Oregon.

The race had to be recalled after Briton James Dasaolu false started.

Gittens’ time is the fastest any Barbadian male has run over that distance indoors.

In the same heat, Antoine Adams of St Kitts was fifth in 6.66 seconds and Trinidad and Tobago’s Rondel Sorrillo sixth in 6.68. (SAT)
