Vagrants take over City doorways

BRIDGETOWN has another blight of sorts on its hands.

And at night it seems to be concentrated around the historic 1895 Mutual Building.

As the sun sets on the capital city, a number of vagrants “turn in” within the numerous doorways of the now closed building.

During the day, they use it as their rest room facilities; one even collects garbage and stores it in one of the doorways.

A vegetable and fruit vendor, who has been plying her trade in the shadow of the Mutual for a number of years, said vagrants moved in when First Citizens Bank moved out.
