BL&P explains power outage

THE BARBADOS LIGHT & Power says the outage which several of its customers experienced last night was due to a fault that originated at its Spring Garden generation plant.

The outage lasted from just before 8 p.m. until 9:22 p.m. in St Lucy, St Andrew, St Thomas, and parts of St James, St Michael, St George, Christ Church and St Philip.

In a release, BL&P said engineers and technical crews worked to restore full power quickly and safely.

“The Barbados Light & Power Company Limited wishes to apologise for the inconvenience caused to customers affected by last night’s outage,” the company said. (PR/NB)
