Comfortable place for all, says PM

PRIME MINISTER Freundel Stuart says Barbados must first be made “comfortable and congenial’ for Barbadians in order that these features may be extended to visitors.

This was the message he imparted to guests invited to a Sandals Reunion Week organised in recognition of the loyalty of 92 couples to the Sandals brand.

Speaking at a dinner hosted at Sandals resort at St Lawrence Gap, Christ Church, Wednesday night, Stuart told the visitors that tourism played a key role in Barbados’ development and as the lead sector in the economy, it was paying the island’s bills.

“Therefore we feel ourselves under an obligation to make sure that we make Barbados as congenial and as comfortable a place as possible for those who visit us,” he said.
