Marsh’s sonic boom

ST JOHN’S are right in the play-off race.

Just like how Akeem Marsh is still very much in the hunt for MVP.

The national forward had 27 of his 33 points after half-time, including nine during his team’s deciding 16-1 closing-run, as Urban Vybz St John’s Sonics upended Hilton Barbados Warriors 77-58 on Thursday in the Co-operators General Insurance Basketball Premier League at the Wildey Gym.

It was a tour-de-force performance, to say the least, from Marsh, who entered the contest in a tight neck-and-neck race for the MVP with Jamar Headley, but managed to outduel his Warriors counterpart on the big night.
