Police are being extremely tight-lipped about the investigation regarding the discovery of a cache of firearms in the wee hours of yesterday morning.

Up to press time last night, a man was still in police custody being questioned by investigators from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), after the weapons were reportedly removed from a residence at Marl Hole Gap, Halls Road, St Michael.

According to reliable sources, several semi-automatic weapons and a bullet-proof vest were among the illegal items discovered. But lawmen were unwilling to provide any details yesterday.

“We are still doing our investigations into the matter,” Acting Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Crime, Livingston Eversley, told the SATURDAY SUN.
