THERE WILL BE no disruption at schools represented by the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU), when school restarts next Tuesday.

Confirmation of that came from president, Mary Redman, who told NATION ONLINE the union was satisfied with the work being done at The Lodge, Combermere and Springer Memorial Secondary schools during the Easter break.

Last week Redman threatened some form of industrial action when she delivered her address at the BSTU’s annual general meeting, if the ministry did not hold a meeting to discuss the environmental issues at the three schools.

A meeting was held yesterday afternoon under the chairmanship of acting Minister of Education Harry Husbands. It is understood that acting permanent secretary June Chandler, chief education officer Karen Best and deputy chiefs Joy Adamson and David Clement were also in attendance. (YB)
