The streets of Bridgetown came alive yesterday with a parade of colourful dancers, signalling the start of Gospelfest. The parading patrons made their way from Jubilee Gardens and along Broad Street before returning to their starting point.

Working under the theme Touching Lives, Changing Nations, the festival, which is in its 24th year, is set to be bigger and better than ever as it incorporates a special golden jubilee tribute to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Barbados’ Independence.

Executive producer of the event, Adrian Agard, speaking at the media launch in Jubilee Gardens, noted that he was excited about seeing young people unite and demonstrate “how great God is”.

“The festival continues to secure its foundation through the unswerving objective of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ through various art forms in an effort to bring positive change in our society,” he said.
