Drug-accused remanded to Dodds

TWO MEN facing a number of drug charges have been remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison at Dodds, St Philip.

The charges arose after a police operation last Thursday off the coast of Carlisle Bay, Bay Street, involving the police’s marine unit and the Barbados Coast Guard. A boat was intercepted, and 212 pounds of marijuana recovered.

And yesterday, Augustus Decourcey Adams, and Ryan Oneal Rollins made their first appearance at the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court to answer charges related to the drug find.

Adams, 41, a welder of Vault Road, Welchman Hall, St Thomas, and Rollins, 42, a fisherman from Landsdown, Silver Sands, Christ Church, were not required to plead to the indictable charges.

The men were jointly charged with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, trafficking, and importation of the illegal drug. (BA)
