FORMER West Indies fast bowler Mervyn Dillon has denied giving former teammate Tino Best the cold shoulder during the Test debut of the fiery Barbadian pacers 13 years ago.

Writing in his autobiography Mind The Windows – excerpts of which have been posted in the website www.espncrininfo.com, Best lamented the lack of support he got from most of his teammates during his first Test match against Australia at Kensington Oval in 2003.

Best had replaced Dillon in the West Indies’ starting 11 and he claimed that the Trinidadian never had a conversation with him, didn’t encourage him or even offer him a drink of water.

In response, Dillon, however, offered a different version of events in a posting on Facebook. (HG)
