DIRECTV PARADISE and Neighbourhood Cave Pharmacy Weymouth Wales booked their spots in the quarter-finals of the Banks Beer Champions Cup on Tuesday night at the Barbados Football Association’s (BFA) Wildey ground.

Paradise easily dismissed their Christ Church neighbours Maxwell 7-1, while Wales brushed aside the challenge of Division Two’s L&R United 3-0.

Wales, fresh from their victory over Digicel Premier League leaders the University of the West Indies (UWI), kept their momentum. Captain Jabar “Buggy” Greene, who netted the winner last Sunday, opened the scoring in the 36th minute, slotting home a rebound while Tristan Parris doubled Wales’ lead in the 77th minute and Hadan Holligan secured the win with a goal in the 90th minute.

Paradise wasted no time in sending a message to Maxwell. In the first minute, Armando Lashley took full advantage of the unprepared Maxwell defence as he easily broke their offside trap to convert his one-on-one effort beyond goalkeeper Oliver Hinkson. (RG)
