CHILDREN OF five special units across Barbados are packing their bags to compete at a Paralympic event in Trinidad.
Due to the economic downturn, however, there is a lack of corporate support to assist the contingent for the April 20-21 competition.
Speaking at press conference at the Parkinson Community Centre last Friday, pioneer of the Hamilton Lashley Foundation, Hamilton Lashley revealed they had lost a number of sponsors.
“I know there is this loud cry out in Barbados concerning the availability of funds. This year we were not able to get the necessary funding we have each year but we are still working to make sure that we carry the full contingent,” said Lashley. (RG)
