BANKS BARBADOS BREWERIES could be manufacturing one of its new parent company’s stellar beers, Presidente, by the end of this year.
According to the brewery’s chief executive officer Richard Cozier, the popular lager could eventually find itself on local shelves as well, if parent company Ambev makes that determination.
However, he is promising that Banks, still considered the beer of Barbados, and Deputy, its No. 2 beer, will not become lesser siblings if or when Presidente beers do roll off the line for sale in Barbados.
When Presidente is made in Barbados, it would mark the first product produced by Banks since Ambev took over operations in a highly publicised multimillion-dollar takeover last year. (BA)
