I don’t want any apology!

I REFER TO historian Robert Morris’ call for Bajan Whites to apologise for slavery. I do not want any apology from any white Barbadian and I will speak for my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will never want an apology from white or any other colour or race.

Ambassador Robert Morris should encourage Barbadians to chart their future history. Stop the call of weaklings for Blacks to carry the chip on their shoulders. Slavery done. Do I hear the English asking the Romans to apologise for their occupation of Britain and the enslavement of the inhabitants?

The first slaves in Barbados were white. Are their descendants (well mixed besides) asking the British aristocracy for an apology? No, they side-step and get on with life. Why don’t the Blacks do the same?

Stop begging! Nobody owes us anything. It’s a brave new world.
