CRICKET DEVELOPMENT is a continuing problem in the Caribbean and drastic measures need to be taken to combat it.
This view was expressed by chairman of the Barbados Cricket Association’s scholarship and placement committee Winston Stafford.
“Development is a perennial problem in the Caribbean. We have a bottleneck and we need to find a way to of reducing it,” he said.
Stafford told MIDWEEK SPORT he believed coaching programmes should be developed for those who wanted a career in the sport.
“They could have the qualifications that they could earn their keep other than in Barbados,” he said. (RG)
