SANGENE BROOMES has a lot of love in her heart – for her supporters, for her detractors and especially for her 12 children.
The Checker Hall Development, St Lucy resident said she did not take on anyone who said she had too many children and some of the nastier comments on social media were from people who did not walk a mile in her shoes.
“I love everybody – who with me and who against me. The people on social media . . . I don’t like to respond to people who say those things but when the old people had all them children, it was no problem but now it is. They don’t know what I went through but my mother used to tell me ‘how you make up your bed, you live with it’ so I am living my life,” she said.
Broomes made headlines last week Friday when her story appeared in the WEEKEND NATION detailing her dilapidated house, meagre income and the number of children she had. She said then she had been unaware of some of her pregnancies, adding the fathers of some of the children remained in their lives, giving them somewhere to live. (CA)
