MASSY BARBADOS HAS completed its restructuring process, and one of the fruits of it was rolled out yesterday morning.

The property at Sargeant’s Village, Christ Church, which was closed at the end of January, was reopened under the new Price Lo Supermarket brand and with it a new concept to supermarket shopping. Thirty-five people will be employed on an everyday basis.

Managing director Randall Banfield thanked the Barbados Workers’ Union for the help and advice given during the restructuring process, as they “navigated the unpleasant task of closing the supermarket that was here before”.

“We spent a lot of time brainstorming around the processes, and the procedures, and the structure of this business because we hear customers. We know that they’re asking for better pricing and asking for better value, and we’ve spent a lot of time around redesigning our whole business model to be able to engineer great reductions in cost and to pass on those savings to customers by way of good prices,” he said.
