THE DIGICEL PREMIER LEAGUE has a new leader.

After last Thursday night’s round of matches at the Barbados Football Association (BFA) Wildey AstroTurf, Direct TV Paradise moved to the top spot with a comfortable 4-1 victory over Lumisol Technology Inc. Pinelands.

Neighbourhood Care Pharmacy Weymouth Wales made the title chase interesting when they defeated reigning champions the Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme (BDFSP) 1-0; the second defeat for the soldiers this week after their elimination from the Banks Beer Champions Cup by a similar scoreline.

Paradise join the University of the West Indies on 27 points, however, with a superior goal average.

The boys from Dover raced to a 2-0 lead in the first half, compliments of a double-strike from the league’s leading goal scorer Armando Lashley, who scored in the 21st and 41st minutes, moving his tally to 14 goals.
