BARBADIAN Dwayne Smith laid the foundation for a six-wicket victory by Gujarat Lions over Royal Challengers Bangalore with a breezy cameo in the Indian Premier League (IPL) yesterday.
The Royal Challengers posted a challenging total of 180 for two, behind Virat Kohli’s, unbeaten 100 off 63 balls with 11 fours and a six and 51 not out off 35 balls with four fours and three sixes from Lokesh Rahul.
But Smith hit three fours and two sixes in a knock of 32 off 21 balls as he dominated an opening stand of 47 with Brendon McCullum, who made 42 off 24 balls with five fours and two sixes at the Sauashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot. (CMC/EZS)
