MUCH LIKE THE BOUNCERS he bowled during his international career, condemnation came fierce, fast and furious for former West Indies and Barbados fast bowler Tino Best.
It was in response to the latest excerpt from his autobiography Mind The Windows: My Story in which he reveals he “slept with anywhere between 500 and 650 girls, all around the world”. Referring to himself as the “black Brad Pitt” and a “man whore” in the book, Best said at the time he was young and loving life, but in a subsequent interview, said he had changed.
Many expressed disgust, cautioning about sexually transmitted diseases. While the total outnumbers his total wicket haul to date, there was some support for Best, mainly from men.
Valerie Gooding: Feeling sorry for the future wife. According to medical experts it will be as if she has also slept with that same number. Nothing to boast about. This is disgraceful.
Pat-bb Patricia: That should read, Tino Best scored anywhere between 500 to 650 runs. What does the man’s personal life have to do with anybody? Sigh.
Richelle Bourne: So I’m guessing since this master key unlocked so many locks, it must be broken now since it hasn’t been seen off the market for a while now. Or is it just old and rusty?
Shawn Trini Kissoondath: Can this be a stunt to get free publicity? Ah mean, his cricketing career was not all that super.

Reggie Forde: Tino is honest, not deceitful and pretensive like lots of people.
Yolanda Nicholls: Now if he had only gotten that much wickets, or did he?
Sue Holder: Not a great thing to boast about. Sure it will put off future partners.
Mikey: One reason the West Indies couldn’t win a series in his time. The amount of licks batsmen put into this guy, boy I tell you. A real man would be proud to take 500 Test wickets and go home to his only wife.
