Fort Lauderdale-Barbados flights set to take off

DAILY DIRECT FLIGHTS between Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Barbados start tomorrow from JetBlue.

Seymour Bailey, business development officer of the Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. Florida office stated the importance of the service and having steady movement both ways as he spoke to the Barbadian media currently in Fort Lauderdale on a brief tour of the area.

He said many people are not familiar with the Fort Lauderdale area even though it is about 25 minutes from Miami, a popular area with Barbadians.

The inaugural flight is expected to land at Grantley Adams International Airport with JetBlue chief executive officer Robin Hayes on board.

A delegation from the local tourism industry is expected to be on that flight which arrives at 11:31 a.m. (LK)
