BUT Meeting

TODAY IS ONE week since the Barbados Union of Teachers (BUT) industrial action started against the Ministry of Education.

And it is set to continue today next door to the Ministry of Education at Constitution Road, The City.

This in spite of the issuing of a letter from the ministry which requested the names of teachers who attended last Friday’s meeting at the union’s headquarters at Merryhill, Welches, St Michael.

However, Pedro Shepherd, the BUT’s president, will not be losing any sleep over the matter.

Despite concerns by some teachers that their pay may be docked as a result, Shepherd said he was not concerned by the letter and that the union was pressing ahead with another meeting today. (AD)
